Santa Elena is formed with great touristic resources.  It constitutes one of the most spectacular trips in South America bordering the coastline, which is known as the Route of the Sun on which you can appreciate the majestic ocean and its surrounding areas.  This is just one of the reasons of why you should come to visit Santa Elena.

 

The Mud Baths of San Vicente Nature Santa Elena

This is a true treasure of medicinal waters that will let your vacation also be a benefit for your health.  Known since old times, present day it is a favorite place for all tourists due to its thermal waters and volcanic mud produced by the volcano.  These are rich in silicone, iron, calcium, sodium, and other organic materials ideal for treatments.  In addition you can bathe in hot water and immediately after submerge yourself into the cold pool.

At the Olon community you can visit the Sanctuary of the Star of the Ocean Virgin, which is found over on a cliff and is characterized for having the form of a ship embarking.  Here you can see the image of the virgin that cried tears of blood.  You can also find other attractions you can’t skip.  The majestic sea and its surroundings make this the best place for meditation and oration.

At this museum you can appreciate works made by the chorrera, valdiva cultures.  Images of feminine figures made from clay that for this culture was a sign of fertility.  You can also find human remains and discovered vases that show that show coastal culture.    In addition there are replicas that inform us the daily life of the civilizations that live in his region.

Dos Mangas Community Community Tourism Santa Elena

 

The commune of Dos Mangas shows the development of sustainable tourism with walks along the Chongon Colonche, Olon range that has placid beaches that offer a spectacular view of the sea and sunset from its viewpoint located on the Virgin Sanctuary.  Olon has a community lodging system where you can stay with one of the local families.  You can also visit the Sanctuary of the Star of the Sea Virgin.

 


Surfing, Kayak and Jet Sky Adventure Santa Elena

Surfing and camp sites.  To practice this sport, Montanita is the ideal place with the best facilities.
Kayak, windsurfing, beach volleyball, Jet Ski, and surf.  The beach of Salinas is the ideal place to practice these water sports.  Some waves reach here meters in height which is why many national and international surf competitions are held here.

The small player, one of the smallest migratory birds in the world, has made the lakes of Ecuasal its home.  The birds that you can find here are the chorlitos, pelicans, gulls, frigate birds, and storks that look for fish in the water.  In total there are 140 bird species that call these lakes home and with their presence have made this the first important regional bird area in Ecuador, as designated by the Hemispheric Network of Beach Bird Reserves

 

Salinas Sun and Beach Santa Elena

This is the departing point for the famous Route of the Sun.  Its beautiful beaches are a favorite for national and international tourists where diversion, entertainments, rest, gastronomy, and adventure are guaranteed year round.  Important sporting events are also held here.
At this beautiful beach you will find a diverse array of local dishes.  Fun can also be had night and day.  During the trip you can visit the site called la Chocolatera that is found in the Salinas Naval Base and is the second saltiest point on the South American coast.


Montañita Sun and Beach Santa Elena

This is a multicultural bathing area whose waves are famous among surf enthusiasts.  Various international and national surf competitions are held which makes this an ideal place for a surfer.   Nightlife is another subject in Montañita with bars that transform into clubs and music at the principal corners, thanks to the artisans and musicians that have decided to stay in Montañita, all make this the perfect vacation spot for friends and family.

Ayangue
The beaches of Ayangue invite you to enjoy the tranquil ocean waters.  Wide sandy areas bordered by two cliffs that interrupt the ocean, invite you to rest and feel like a king or queen.   It also offers you the most exquisite lobster, shrimp, squid, and crab that will delight your taste buds.  The large amount of fishing boats that you will see anchored, offers trips into the ocean that will let you have another perspective of this wonderful place.
