Carchi is a culmination of traditions: rich in cultural expression like its folklore expresses in music and dance practiced through the traditional parties of Chota in the basin of Mira. Typical foods are tortillas made from potatoes with sausage, hornado with hominy accompanied with chicha, fried guinea pig, morocho with milk, habas and mellocos with cheese, delicious biscuits, and Bolivar doughnuts, and the exquisite drink of Tardon Mireno.
The Cemetery of Tulcan is an attraction for tourists because it contains a curious work that has been named the “sculpture in green.” It is a landscape work that has been able to give interesting and capricious form to the cemetery’s cypress.
The city of Tulcan is famous for its “green sculpture,” the church of Mira which has a stone structure that dates to 1937 and contains an image of the Virgin of Charity that belongs to the Quito school. Regarding museums, the most distinguished are the Archeological Museum, the Museum of Mira, and the Municipal Archeological Museum of Blas Angel. Among its customs we have the dance of the bomba when a woman has to try to maintain a bottle on her head; cock fights; bull runs, and the burning of castillos and fireworks. The artisanal figures are the mazapan and the sacks of wool crafted by hand by the talented woman.
The existence of petro-glyphs , bohios, quad-angular mapeos allows you to observe the archeological finds of Tulcan. Also in the canton of Bolivar there are fossil remains of prehistoric animals found in the cemetery of Mamuts where you can make scientific studies.
The Ecologic Reserve of el Angel. It is a unique marsh where the soil contains a large amount of water which is why the reserve is considered a true sponge that holds all of the liquid of Carchi.
The Uyama tourist complex has medicinal waters that allow you to take a refreshing bath and also has green areas. The Tufino complex is recommended for specialists for the treatment of arthritic illness of rheumatoid for its high concentration of sulfur.
Thermal Bath of Aguacate. Its name is due to the existence of avocado plants. It is a recreational area famous for its thermal waters of medicinal character. It is also attractive to play sports, do excursions, and to have a family trip.
The Calera Bathing Area. It holds thermal waters that are rich in minerals with a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, found in a valley with a favorable climate. The thermal waters are a great tourist attraction surrounded by natural forests that includes small vestiges of a petrified forest.

The Lord of good Hope. In the canton of Bolivar you can find the Sanctuary of the Lord of Good Hope which dates to 1925. Its style is gothic and on its interior it holds a Latin cross with one nave.

Virgin of la Paz. One of the most frequented religious sites; its cavern is of geo-fluvial formation from a calcium rock that has given way to numerous stalactites and at its exit its waters have sculpted, after going through 150 m, a natural bridge called Rumichaca on which there has been erected the most beautiful natural sanctuary of Ecuador and of America. On its interior an image of the Virgin of la Paz is venerated.

Municipal Archeological Museum of Blas Angel. It has many archeological pieces from different sectors of the Andel region that correspond to the phases of the Capuli, Piartal, and Tuza. It has vases, plates, and antro-morphic figures. This museum is visited by students and by foreign and national tourists.
In Tulcan there is an orchard located at eh central park in Maldonado, where the topography of the land offers the possibility to realize various activities like: walks, hiking, rafting, etc.
The Millennial Forest of Arrayanes. It occupies a shallow cliff surrounded by trees that serve as a coat foe the great biodiversity like the : Pumamaqui (oreopanax sp), bacharis sp, crton pycnanthus, stlys, tillandsia complanata, colca (miconia), pulisa, rabbits, hummingbirds, and gorriones. The avifauna also includes the Guanderas biological station, the Viewpoint of Socabanes, and the Hill of Chiltazon.
